I think that social networking is extremely important to some people, which I see more in my daughter's generation. She needs to be communicating with her friends on an almost constant basis whether she's on her cellphone or through her myspace account. They post pictures of themselves with friends, list music they like, list movies they've watched, etc. We have been very firm about safety and I think that is very important. With her, she can only communicate with friends that she has 'approved' through her myspace account. It can be scary with the sea of humanity out there using these websites but I think you just have to be smart about it.
I don't see myself creating a page on these sites but I can see their usefulness in keeping people connected.
